L'Arche Ipswich is expanding
L’Arche Ipswich is expanding to be able to welcome more people with learning disabilities. Due to the nature and quality of our support, some of our residents are ready to move on to supported flats and arrangements are in place for them to do so with other agencies. We desperately need to create new or improved residential spaces for current L’Arche Ipswich members and for new residents who wish to join the community.
In Ipswich, and in Suffolk as a whole, there is a clear need for quality housing and community life for young adults in transition who want to grow beyond their childhood home. There is also increasing demand for supported living for middle-aged people with learning disabilities who are looking to move on from the family home where parents are ageing and can no longer sustain the necessary support needed by their child.
We’re raising money to enable us to purchase an appropriate property and to adapt it to suit the needs of the residents and assistants who will live there. Our aim is to create another warm and friendly L’Arche house which will serve to extend and enhance the community in Ipswich.
Please help us by donating whatever you can. Thank you.
