FULL TIME ROLES


COMMUNITY LEADER

Full time, Permanent role. Non-residential role
£45,185 per annum

Do you believe in a world where all belong? Will you help make that a reality for people with learning disabilities in London?

L'Arche is a worldwide federation of Communities of people with and without learning disabilities working together to create a more human society.

Are you a leader who can inspire and lead a community of 100 people with and without learning disabilities
and
manage a team responsible for a budget of £1.6m and a range of housing, care and support services?

L’Arche London is an ecumenical Christian community which welcomes people of all faiths and none. 

There is a CQC registered manager in post, so although you do not need specific experience of managing housing, care and support services, you do need senior management experience and transferable skills.

DEPUTY SERVICE COORDINATOR

40 hours per week. 6 month Fixed Term Contract (with potential to renew). Non-residential role
£21,300 - £22,600 per annum

We’re now looking for a new Deputy Service Co-ordinator to join our leadership team. Do you have a passion for ensuring people with disabilities live fulfilled lives? Do you want to help lead a community that really tries to value people for who they are and what they can do? 

L’Arche London is more than just a service provider, we’re a community of people with and without learning disabilities. We’re part of an international federation with its roots in France.  We provide registered care, supported housing and specialist day services – helping around 35 people with sometimes complex learning disabilities live great lives.

You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality person centred support in one of our three groups. You will lead and inspire a support team to ensure L’Arche gives time to practical, social and spiritual needs.  

We’re looking for people with knowledge and experience of supporting people with learning disabilities but far more essential is an enthusiasm for our values and the ability to inspire and manage others.

Support Assistants - Residential

Full time (46 hours per week) 1+ year opportunity
Live in residential role
Recruiting now for Spring 2018 or Summer 2018 starts.

Spend a year living in our community as a L'Arche Assistant, sharing ordinary life and building extraordinary relationships with other people, with and without disabilities. Our assistants come from all over the world, are of all faiths and none, and from every stage and walk of life. Some come to learn and develop new skills supporting people with a learning disability, others are care professionals looking for a deeper context, others are excited by the opportunity of living in a purpose driven, inclusive Christian community.

This is a charity worker, volunteer role and so we provide you with free accommodation in a shared house (all bills included), all food and a monthly living allowance (to cover personal expenses, travel, etc) of £330+ (depending on experience), plus paid holiday.

Our Assistants training programme meets the highest care sector standards and includes sign language, personal care and understanding autism. Our personal development programme provides time for personal growth and reflection including retreats, whilst community life offers opportunities to explore London and travel within the UK.

L'Arche London (Live In) Assistant Job Description

Support Assistants - non-residential

Are you passionate about working with people with learning disabilities? Build your experience supporting people with learning disabilities in a unique community setting as a full time Assistant at L'Arche London.

For 40 years L'Arche London has been providing high quality person centred care, but we're far more than a service provider. We're a community of more than 100 people with and without disabilities living, working  and celebrating together. Our roots are in the Christian faith, but we welcome people from all faiths and none: our vision is a world where all belong.

Whether you are care professional looking for a fresh outlook, or are new to the care sector looking for experience, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for positive, responsible people who want to help create a community that really tries to value people for who they are and what they can do.

You must be willing to work weekends and evenings, and do sleep-overs on a flexible rota basis. The rate for this role starts at £1440 per month, depending on qualifications, plus additional pay for sleepovers. We provide 30 days paid holiday a year, plus a pension.

We work hard to look after everyone in our community providing team support and 1-to-1s, a care sector approved Assistants training programme (including sign language, personal care and understanding autism) and a programme of opportunities for professional and personal development.

L'Arche London Assistant (non-residential) Job Description

PART TIME ROLES

Relief Assistants
Flexible hours
1 year minimum contract

We are always looking for people with previous L'Arche experience (either from L'Arche London or other L'Arche communities around the world) or external candidates with relevant experience to join our bank of relief assistants.

This is a flexible working role, with hours dependent on your availbility and the needs by the people you support. We are looking for people to join the bank for at least one year.

Our hourly rate is £8.41 (£7.50 per hour plus a further £0.91 per hour holiday pay). We also pay £28 per sleepover. We provide an ongoing programme of training, professional and personal development.
